As an increasing number of the town's buildings became neglected, run-down and empty, Galeri Caernarfon Cyf (formerly known as Cwmni Tref Caernarfon) was set up as an independent Town Development Trust in 1992 and began by taking on the challenging task of transforming and refurbishing some of Caernarfon's biggest eyesores. To date, the Trust has renovated and refurbished over twenty neglected and vacant properties in the town, which are now occupied by tenants.

How to find the venue.
Make your way to Morfa Nefyn, either via the coast road (A499) from Caernarfon, or the A497 from Pwllheli. Then head west from along the B4417 for approximately 1km and take the first left on entering the village of Edern. After 200 metres again take the first left into Lon Pwll Clai and proceed for a further 300 metres until the road ends in the Hotel forecourt

The Luminaire opened its doors on 1 March 2005. They were sick of the way bands and gig-goers were treated by promoters and venues. We never understood why things had to be confrontational, why sound engineers snapped at bands who requested basic things, why people who were supposed to love music were disrespectful to those who made it and those who came to listen.
"We still don't understand it, so you won’t find any of that behaviour around here."

Bear right onto Kilburn High Road under the three railway bridges, pass the North London Tavern, Brondesbury rail station and Cookies & Cream Cafe. We're four doors past that on the right. 4 minutes walk
FROM BAKERLOO LINE (Kilburn Park)
Turn left out of station and left onto Kilburn High Road. Catch a 16 or 32 bus, otherwise walk past Nemo Coffee, WH Smith, McDonalds, Halifax Bank, the Mecca bingo hall, past the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema. We're on the left, six doors up from that. 12 minutes walk.
FROM LONDON OVERGROUND, Brondesbury
Turn right out of the station, past Cookies & Cream and we're four doors along, right hand side. 45 seconds walk.
